The architecture behind every application
Each Menlo Tech case is an instance of the same foundation: context, agents, mathematical decision and observability. Four capability families that support one another.
Family names are proposed labels for the reference architecture. A component is described as implemented only when there is public evidence; not every deployment contains every family.
Architecture map: choose a family
- Intelligence Engine → Decision Engine: structured context becomes choices.
- Intelligence Engine → Agent OS: context feeds planning.
- Decision Engine → Agent OS: choices become actions.
- Agent OS → Observatory: every action leaves a trace.
- Observatory → Intelligence Engine: evaluation improves context and models.
Menlo Tech Intelligence Engine
Enterprise context and semantic retrieval.
Status: Proposed architectureResponsibilities
- Gather data from systems, spreadsheets, documents and email.
- Resolve entities and link facts to sources.
- Retrieve context by meaning and by relationship.
Technical components
- Data connectors
- Entity resolution
- Knowledge graph
- Semantic index (embeddings)
- Model routing
Input and output
Input: Raw company data and its sources.
Output: Structured context, with origin and confidence.
Dependencies
- Observatory (access and audit)
Business applications
- RE/MAX: geographic graph and semantic retrieval.Illustrative example
- Clave: field extraction from documents.Proposed architecture
- Subway: portfolio structured from ERP, spreadsheets and email.Simulated values
Governance boundaries
- Every fact carries a source and relations.
- Access by defined purpose.
- Menlo Tech Intelligence Engine: Enterprise context and semantic retrieval.
- Menlo Tech Agent OS: Agent coordination, state and approvals.
- Menlo Tech Decision Engine: Optimization, forecasting, simulation and allocation.
- Menlo Tech Intelligence Observatory: Traces, evaluation, audit and governance.
Where each family appears in the cases
| Case | Intelligence Engine | Agent OS | Decision Engine | Observatory |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| RE/MAX | Illustrative example | Illustrative example | Illustrative example | Proposed architecture |
| Clave | Proposed architecture | Proposed architecture | Proposed architecture | Proposed architecture |
| Subway Brasil | Simulated values | Published indicator | Simulated values | Published indicator |
The matrix shows the status of what each case presents, not a claim that the family is in production.
